Product description:
The PowerBox Royal SR2 once again sets new technical standards and impresses with features previously available only in professional aviation. P²-ServoBus, 26 channels, 12-axis gyro, two pairs of controllers, and a color display are just a few of the technical refinements awaiting ambitious pilots in the PowerBox Royal SR2.
The PowerBox Royal SR2 is housed in an extremely compact and elegant enclosure with an aluminum heat sink. The large cooling surface dissipates the heat from the 4 controllers, which, in pairs, supply power to all 26 servos. Both controller pairs can be set to 4 different voltages. This allows standard 6V servos to be combined with high-performance HV servos without additional controller modules.
For the first time, all data from all servos can be monitored in the model and their parameters adjusted from the transmitter¹. This development traces back to the introduction of our P²-BUS protocol, whose goal has always been complete control of all components within the model. The PowerBox Royal SR2 features four independent P²-BUS interfaces that can be set to two different voltage levels.
Servos with integrated P²-BUS, or standard servos with the new P²-ServoBridge, can be connected to these interfaces. The P²-ServoBridge is an adapter that converts the P²-BUS signal into a PWM signal for standard servos and features a continuously adjustable electronic fuse. This allows for the implementation of a bus system within the model that is significantly superior to standard PWM wiring in terms of safety and performance.
The color display shows all data from the receivers and the power supply, and all settings are configured via an easy-to-understand, structured, and bilingual menu.
The TFT display is also built into a high-quality aluminum housing and remains clearly legible even in direct sunlight.
When combined with the optionally available iGyro SAT, the PowerBox Royal SR2 provides a 12-axis gyro system that is unmatched in functionality. Using the setup wizard, even the most complex models can be configured in just a few minutes. The gyro sensitivity is then calibrated during a test flight in the air using a rotary encoder. A whole range of additional expert settings then allow the pilot to customize the gyro effect to their specific preferences.
Of course, a GPS III sensor can also be connected to the PowerBox Royal SR2. This automatically adjusts the gyro sensitivity to the flight speed.
The 26 outputs of the PowerBox Royal SR2 are not only sufficiently powered, but they can also be individually assigned various functions.
All outputs can be assigned to direct and gyro channels, or to the door sequencer function. The PowerBox Royal SR2 features a newly developed automatic servo matching function. This allows up to three servos to be automatically matched to each other across 5 points in just a few seconds. All that is required is to select the servos that are mechanically connected to each other and start the process. Of course, each output can also be manually configured using the servo matching function in the graphical menu.
The system is completed by the two integrated door sequencers. In addition to the landing gear, this allows, for example, canopy controls with locking mechanisms to be implemented without any additional devices. The first door sequencer can be programmed in just a few minutes using a setup wizard—3 modes are available. Additional special settings are a breeze to configure thanks to the graphical display, which shows the entire sequence timeline at a glance.
For PowerBox and Jeti pilots, the PowerBox Royal SR2 can be operated and adjusted almost entirely² from the transmitter! Telemetry for battery and receiver data is fully implemented for all supported systems.
With a connected GPS III, GPS data is also available—provided the respective RC system supports it.
¹ The P² servo bus system works, as with the previous PowerBox Royal SRS, for all radio control systems. The P² ServoBridge can even be plugged directly into the PowerBox Royal SR2’s data port and configured. Thus, no additional USB or Bluetooth adapter is required to set the channel assignment or cut-off current. However, the ability to configure the P²-BUS servos or the P²-ServoBridge from the transmitter is limited to PowerBox transmitters. Additionally, telemetry data from the individual servos can only be transmitted using the powerful telemetry system of the Core and Atom remote controls.
