Universal ServoBus adapter with electronic fuse.
The P²-ServoBridge is the key to a completely new servo bus technology that opens up previously unimagined possibilities. When using a servo bus, only a single wire is needed for multiple servos. The servos are addressed and thus know which signal is intended for them. Earlier servo bus systems already simplified wiring in the model and eliminated many connectors, for example in the wings. What’s new about the PowerBox P²-Bus is that it operates bidirectionally! This means the servos can not only be controlled with precise, digital signals, but can also transmit important telemetry data such as current, voltage, temperature, and other information to the Core or Atom transmitter. Targeted alarm settings in the transmitter allow errors to be detected and corrected in a timely manner without having to deal with the volume of data. But it gets even better: The P²-ServoBridge can be configured directly from the transmitter. The built-in electronic fuse can be adjusted to the connected servo with millisecond and milliamp precision. A microcontroller decodes the bus signal, monitors the current directly at the servo with high measurement speed and precision, and shuts off the servo precisely when the set threshold is exceeded.
This technology eliminates all the drawbacks associated with simple poly fuses, such as temperature dependence or aging effects. Various preset profiles allow even non-electronics experts to find the correct setting for the servo being used.
The P² Servo Bridge is attached to the bottom or side of the servo housing using the included adhesive pad, where it also measures the servo temperature. In addition to the P²-BUS, the P² Servo Bridge works with various bus systems such as S.BUS or SRXL, as well as with conventional PWM servo signals. This means the device can also be used without bus wiring for precise overcurrent shutdown, for example for landing gear servos. The input signal used is automatically detected, and the fuse is preset for standard servos up to 30 kg*cm, so that the P² Servo Bridge can be used as a plug-and-play solution for most applications.
